Robotic and Programming

In Robotic and Programming class I am learning to use my programming knowledge to design my Mars Landers

The Design Process

For the past few lessons we research. For the past few lessons we research. We looked at sphero edu and played the mars lander games so we can see the ideas of how the mars lander robot looks like. We draw our own robot on a piece of paper and draw what we want our robot to look like. We got into groups and decided to build, brainstorm and design a robot. We didn’t brainstorm or plan our Mars lander design on a piece of paper but my group just talked together to share our ideas for what kind of design we are going to make our Mars lander. We communicate together to give out our ideas of how we are going to design our design. For design we decided to take our main ideas and try to build a robot using plastic cups, straws, take and the sphero edu ball. We’d use the plastic cups to try and make the four wheels but it didn’t work out. We took some ideas from sphero edu to figure out a way to build a mars lander (robot). We cut the cups so we can turn it into wheels for our design then we tried to find a way to try and put the sphero inside and we tried to build the body so we can have a complete design. We were going to try our our group design but we didn’t have times. I’m in a new group now and we build our Mars lander we build the body and our group mars lander design was complete. We put the sphero inside and test it out it worked really well, our design can turn around, it can move forward and backwards and it can go anywhere if we control it.

About Mars

The terrain of Mars is way below freezing. The surface is rocky, with canyons, volcanoes with dry lakes bed and craters all over the surface and the planet have red dust that spread all over the surface of the planet.  Mars have wind and air just like earth but sometimes when the wind blow the red dust can turn into a dust storm. I found out that it has been amount of evidence that suggest water once ran on the surface of mars. It would have to take more than six Mars to fill the earth.

Using JavaScript with Sphero

Sphero: JavaScript is one of the most popular programming language in the world. It’s easy to use for modern website but it's even possible to build website with extensions of the Language. JavaScript was created in 1995 by Brendan Erich at Netscape, it’s one of the first internet companies which built a popular web browser . Streaming: The memory on sphero robots is very small so that streaming allows you to use your own device memory as the only constraint, which nowadays mobile devices and computers is basically limitless. Punctuation:  Codes needs to be structured so it can be interpret by robots, just like the way we agreed on punctuation standards in writing. For example, if authors did not write without using punctuation rules, the readers would have a tough time reading the books. Code-combat: In JavaScript I use the “hero move right, left and up.

How to use JavaScript

We are learning how to use JavaScript in Code Combat Robotic and this is the video of me playing the Code-combat using the code. We used the left and right code to move around so we can collect the gems. Every time you passed each levels the more you get to the other levels it get hard.
